Here are my top picks. They’re not the best restaurants in Amsterdam. They’re not the most famous. They’re the ones I grew up with; the ones I visit with my friends. I hope you enjoy them, but if you don’t, please blame my friends 🙂 Click on the names for directions on Google maps.
- Lunch (or breakfast) in the center of town: Gartine
- Healthy fast food: SLA (several branches)
- Steak lunch or dinner: Cannibale Royale (several branches) or Salmuera
- Indonesian: Restaurant Max
- Dutch originals: Café Sonneveld
- Good coffee: Bocca Coffee
A hidden gem near the Dam: Bistro Berlage and our friends at Cut Throat, and old post-office turned into Barbershop right next to the stock exchange, where they serve homemade Carrean street food from Thursday to Sunday. If you tell them you will or did a tour with us you will also get a €0,50 discount on your coffee!
